Bible Study Group
Bible study on Thursdays, and you can join in on Zoom video, by phone call, or attend in person (at my house). Our study will be using the book: The Story - The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People. This chronological presentation of the Bible was compiled by Pastor Randy Frazee, and is published by Zondervan. (Available as physical book, audiobook, or ebook, at Amazon, CBD.com, and elsewhere.) This book addresses a key weakness for many contemporary churchgoers: a lack of understanding of the complete message of the Bible.
Our official start is September 15. All studies and discussions will be from 6:30-7:30 PM, with a short time of socializing after for those available. Feel free to participate as often as you wish, and to pass on word to others if you like. Our 31 Thursdays together will run through the school year, with breaks for holidays.
The complete history of God's dealings with humans, from the creation through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, to the end times as prophesied in the Revelation of John, is told in this book (The Story). The content of the book is nearly all selected directly from the text of the Bible (New International Version) but it also includes linking portions to explain omitted events and to maintain the flow.
The book is divided into 31 chapters, and so our 31-week study will be focusing on one book chapter per week. This will allow you to keep up in your readings, and join our study discussion when you can.
Again, Thursdays 6:30 - 7:30 PM, in person or by Zoom (with video or just phone), beginning September 15.
I suggest you pick up a copy of the book, The Story (in any format) and read the first section (covering Adam and Eve) for our first meeting.
Jim.
